About Emily Nelson

Dr. Nelson graduated from Trinity University in San Antonio, TX and received her medical degree from University of North Texas Health Science Center-Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine. During her time at UNTHSC-TCOM she also completed the ROME/Rural Scholars Program where she was named Rural Scholar of the Year in 2019. She completed her Family Medicine residency at Texas A&M-St. Joseph Hospital System in Bryan-College Station, Texas where she also served as Chief Resident.

Dr. Nelson specializes in Family Medicine and is Board Certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. She is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, Texas Medical Association, and Texas Osteopathic Medical Association. She provides care for newborns, children, adolescents, adults and geriatrics. Her services include acute and chronic care of a wide variety of medical conditions and procedures including Osteopathic Manipulation Treatments, Women’s Health, POC ultrasound, joint injections and minor surgical excisions.

In her free time, Dr. Nelson enjoys traveling around the world, reading historical fiction, and visiting family in her hometown of Alvin, TX.
